Grainger Grows its Commitment to Diversity with Suppliers and Team Members
GRAINGER GROWS ITS COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY WITH SUPPLIERS AND TEAM MEMBERS
Grainger believes in an inclusive supply chain and we have a long tradition of providing our customers with products from certified minority, woman, veteran and service disabled veteran-owned businesses. As an extension of this commitment, we are proud to announce the recent addition of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) owned businesses to our Supplier Diversity program. We appreciate the work of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce in supporting and certifying LGBT business enterprises and showcasing the diversity of talent within the LGBT community.
In June, Grainger’s Equality Alliance Business Resource Group (BRG) celebrated its first Pride Month as a group by bringing awareness to the support Grainger provides to members of the LGBT community. Deb Oler, Grainger’s VP and General Manager, Brand, spoke about the importance of hiring the best people and the need to eliminate labels that describe people. A Board Member for the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce also spoke at Grainger’s Pride event, and shared her company’s efforts to integrate BRGs and inclusiveness into a cohesive global strategy to attract and retain talent.
The Equality Alliance BRG was founded at Grainger in 2013, and has helped make Grainger an employer of choice for LGBT candidates and current team members. We are proud of this team and its work to support team members, suppliers and customers in the LGBT community.
