Grainger Mexico Recognized as Socially Responsible Company by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy

Grainger Mexico is honored to be recognized by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) as a recipient of the 2015 Empresa Socialmente Responsible (Corporate Social Responsibility) Award. The CEMEFI annually recognizes companies that demonstrate excellence in social responsibility. In order to qualify, companies must show a proven commitment to their employees, investors and customers, and engage voluntarily and publicly in their local communities as part of their business strategy. Companies are assessed according to four criteria – quality of work environment, ethics and values, environmental management and community engagement. This is the first year Grainger has been honored with this award.

Grainger Mexico is committed to giving back locally, and empowers local women through the sponsorship of ANSPAC, an organization that is committed to promoting social advancement through continuing education for working adults. Grainger Mexico also participates in the annual Centro de Rehabilitación Infantil Teletón campaign to support children with cancer and autism. In addition, to help minimize environmental impact, the company’s main distribution center in Monterrey is LEED certified and conserves water by using low-flow plumbing fixtures as well as a gray water and HVAC recovery system, which filters water for non-potable use in and around the facility. Grainger Mexico is proud to be recognized as a socially responsible company, and will continue to support the community and make a positive difference.
