Grainger Supports Veterans with Technical Education Scholarships
One of the greatest challenges veterans face when they return from military service is transferring their experience to civilian careers. Since 2010, Grainger has supported nearly 200 veterans making this transition through the Grainger Tools for Tomorrow® scholarship program.
Adam Anderson is a great example of the dedicated veterans Grainger is proud to support. Adam, a 2014 scholarship recipient, served in the U.S. Army and is now pursuing an associate’s degree at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Adam aspires to find a job in manufacturing, saying, “I chose to study CNC programming and machining because these fields interest me. It’s incredible how a string of commands can produce parts with amazing accuracy.”
Remembering his army training to “never leave a soldier behind,” Adam transferred his spirit of service to the classroom and volunteers as a tutor. In addition to schoolwork, Adam mentors others to help him become a better leader and a better teammate. Thank you for your service, Adam, and for bringing the spirit of service back to your local community!
Grainger salutes all men and women who have bravely served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Visit our Tools for Tomorrow Facebook Group or the Student Profiles page of our CSR website for more stories about our scholarship recipients.
